Kevin Kearns creates atmospheric oil landscapes where memory, reality, and imagination converge. Void of human architecture, his paintings prioritize the organic rhythms of nature, featuring vast skies, broad horizons, and softly undulating hills. Kearns employs a deeply physical process—allowing oil paint to drip, accumulate, or be violently scraped back—to evoke a visceral, contemplative response to specific locations, from the Hudson Valley to the coastal shores of New England, Iceland, and Europe.
Originally trained at the Art Institute of Boston, Kearns transitioned to fine art following an illustrious commercial career as an Emmy-nominated Creative Director and recipient of multiple Cannes Lions and One Show awards. This deep foundation in visual composition seamlessly informs his tactile, emotive approach to canvas. His paintings are held in private and corporate collections worldwide. Kearns currently lives, teaches, and works in the Hudson Valley region of New York.
